Oxfendazole anthelmintic paste for horses
Oxfendazole 185g/kg.
All horses should be included in a regular parasite control programme with particular attention being paid to mares, foals and yearlings.
AMMO Rotational Wormer Paste for Horses is a palatable, broad spectrum benzimidazole (BZ) group anthelmintic with a wide safety margin, for use in horses including foals, yearlings, stallions and pregnant mares. AMMO Rotational Wormer contains oxfendazole, which interferes with the metabolic pathways of intestinal parasites and sterilises worm eggs within 24 hours of dosing, thus reducing contamination of pastures.
Horse owners are advised to work with their vets to create diagnostic driven worming plans, to reduce the risk of parasite related disease in horses. Owners should aim to test (FEC) or treat at least 4 times a year.
To control bots and tapeworms during this period it is best to give AMMO Allwormer twice, once in each Spring and Autumn.
Consult your veterinarian for a control programme to meet your specific needs.
Utilising Fecal Egg Counts (FEC) can confirm if your parasite control program is effective and potentially increase the interval between use of anthelmintics.
For the control of adult and immature forms of Parascaris equorum, Oxyuris equi, Trichostrongylus axei, Strongylus spp, and susceptible small strongyles and adult Habronema microstoma in horses.
AMMO Rotational Wormer kills the tissue stages of Strongylus edentatus and aids in the control of the migrating stages of Strongylus vulgaris (59-88% activity) with corresponding reduction in arterial lesions. A reduction in the prevalence of associated colic could be expected. It sterilises worm eggs within 24 hours of dosing.
To control bots, trichlorfon may be administered concurrently. AMMO Rotational Wormer may be administered to sick, debilitated or pregnant animals provided normal care is taken in handling them.
Dose orally in accordance with bodyweight by turning ring to appropriate setting on barrel side of plunger.
The contents of one 32.6 g syringe are sufficient to treat one horse of 600 kg Bodyweight.
Horse owners are advised to work with their vet to use a diagnostic worming plan. This aims to reduce the risk of parasite related disease in our horses. The recommended treatment program is to treat or test for worms at least 4 times a year to maintain effective levels of parasitic eradication.
To control bots and tapeworms during this period it is best to give AMMO Allwormer twice, once in each season of Spring and Autumn, for eradication no matter what year it is.
Users must adhere to local and racing regulations.
